recruiting for a Strategic Development Specialist II - Defense &
Intelligence for the BAE Systems, Inc. Space and Mission Systems
(SMS) Sector's Strategic Operations (StratOps) Strategic
Capabilities Unit in the Washington, DC area. The Strategic
Development Specialist II - Defense & Intelligence will support
company activities related to strategic development, customer
engagement, and business development, primarily for the SMS
Sector's defense and intelligence customers, which include the
Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC).This
position reports to the Director, Intelligence Programs in
Strategic Operations. The reporting location for the position is
Arlington, VA.The Strategic Operations (StratOps) Strategic
Capabilities Unit, consists of Washington DC Operations, Marketing
& Communications and Strategic Development. The StratOps team
promotes and elevates the business within our markets, works with
customers and industry to influence and drive growth of BAE Systems
Inc.'s SMS Sector, and facilitates collaboration across the sector
to increase opportunities.What You'll Do:
- Lead development of value-added products that inform the SMS
Military Space, National Space, and Tactical Solutions Strategic
Business Units' strategies.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement contact plans for SMS
defense and intelligence customers and stakeholders.
- Represent BAE Systems SMS in the Washington, DC area by
attending and distributing analysis of stakeholder/customer
meetings and industry association activities.
- Draft content for white papers, talking points, presentations,
and materials to support stakeholder/customer meetings.
- Provide assessments of markets and business opportunities, in
coordination with the Market & Competitive Intelligence team within
StratOps.
- Ensure coordination of BAE Systems SMS messaging, consistent
with strategies and goals.
- Provide research and analysis on key policies and legislation
impacting the BAE Systems SMS defense and intelligence customer
communities, including DoD, IC, and other relevant
stakeholders.
- Foster informative relationships with SMS defense and
intelligence customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Develop subject matter expertise in SMS defense and
intelligence programs, pursuits, and capabilities.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within
StratOps, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities
Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order
to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site four or more days each normally scheduled week in the
primary work location. Travel and local commute between company
campuses and other possible non-company locations will be
required.Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory,
cleanroom, or production floor. Required Education, Experience, &
Skills
BS/BA in a related field plus 2 years
or more of related experience.Each higher-level degree, i.e.,
Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of
experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu
of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school
which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of
Education, US Department of Education.A current, active TS/SCI
security clearance is required.Preferred Education, Experience, &
Skills
- BS/BA in public policy, communication, engineering, or
business.
- Experience working at DoD, in the IC, in Congress, or with an
aerospace/defense contractor.
- Exceptional project management skills.
- Ability to manage work with limited direction and self-identify
opportunities to add value.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience developing messaging and high-quality presentations
for senior leaders.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills in relevant business
environments with strong collaboration skills.

- Ability and willingness to travel. Pay InformationFull-Time
Salary Range: $77809 - $132275Please note: This range is based on
our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are
determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to:
business considerations, local market conditions, and internal
equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills,
