University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced
Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical/Tele Observation
Unit. The Observation Unit is a 20 bed unit with rapid patient
turnover and discharges per shift (with patients staying for 24
hours or less). The patient population consists of cardiac,
neurological, medical, and surgical patients. This position allows
for future professional growth by teaching the fast-paced
atmosphere of an ER while strengthening critical skills in a
medical/surgical setting. Ideal for candidates who possess strong
time management skills, work well in a team -paced settings. -Key

- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients.
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and respond to
changes in patient conditions promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the healthcare
team to develop and implement individualized patient care
plans.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical
conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in
accordance with hospital policies.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Current RN License in good standing with state licensing
board.
- BSN required OR enrollment and completion of BSN within 5
years
- Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg experience in an acute care
setting.
- BLS certification (ACLS within 3 months of hire) -About GWUH:
