Project Controls Administrator, we'll count on you to:
- Provide support with development, monitoring, and execution of
constructability/biddability reviews, construction schedule,
schedule impact analysis, contract change/work order, project risk
analysis, NOI/claims analysis and coordination, project records and
contract administration, and other assigned elements by Area
Construction Engineer or designee.
- Manage project information, including hard-copy and electronic
files.
- Coordinate information flow between project participants,
including subconsultants, and if appropriate, between project team
and client.
- Attend project meetings and prepare detailed minutes of
meetings.
- Develop presentations based on input from project team
members.
- Prepare new project start-up documents per HDR project and
quality procedures, including development of schedules and level of
effort estimates.
- Develop and track project schedules for meetings and
deliverables.
- Monitor, update, and review financial data.
- Prepare drafts of monthly progress reports.
- Track and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Use processes and tools established on projects.
- Develop and assist in preparation of schedules.
- Prepare various reports.
- Demonstrate understanding of project control tools.
- Assist in cost estimate development and review.
- Perform other duties as needed.Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Previous experience with a consulting/engineering firm
- Local candidates preferred
- Familiarity with scheduling software
- Ability to interpret construction schedules
- The Project Controls Administrator is expected to have years of
progressive experience on schedule, cost, and quality controls for
highway construction projects.
- The Project Controls Administrator is expected to have a
working knowledge with progressively higher demonstrated experience
with direct involvement on complex construction projects as
appropriate in the following:
- VDOT Scheduling Specifications, Federal and State guidelines,
and Industry standard practices
- Construction schedules fundamentals (including CPM),
progressively complex scheduling technique as well as scheduling
software including Primavera.
- Claims avoidance/mitigation, cost estimating, Work/Change order
practices and requirements, project record administration, and
reporting.
- The Project Controls Administrator is expected to have the
following progressively higher demonstrated skills:
- Claims avoidance/coordination, Work/Change order cost
estimating, project record administration, development and
monitoring of CPM construction schedules using Primavera
software.
- Development of Contract Time Determination Reports
(CTDRs).
- Conduct constructability and bid ability reviews, and cost and
schedule analysis.
- Develop and monitor construction schedules, as-built schedule
updates, and schedule impact analyses.
- Apply methods of quality assurance and quality control.
- VDOT scheduling specifications, Federal and State
guidelines.
- CPM schedules, claims avoidance, claims mitigation, cost
estimating and reporting.Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in project coordination
- Proficiencies with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe
Acrobat
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple long- and
short-term tasks simultaneously
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving
abilities
