Metron Aviation, an Airbus subsidiary, is looking to expand its ranks to support the growing need of Air Traffic Management (ATM), product development and mission analysis. Metron Aviation's long-term strategy is to support and accelerate ATM programs that will dramatically improve global airspace capacity, efficiency, and environmental sustainability.

We currently have an opening for an experienced Technical Writer/Editor. This role includes editing proposals, scientific reports and other technical documents. The Technical Writer/Editor will be responsible for learning Metron Aviation's applications and developing the content for user guides, online help systems, and other related documentation. The successful candidate must be a team player who is able to work with little supervision and is comfortable in a fast-paced software development environment.


Responsibilities:

Create, edit, and maintain user guides for all production-level software using Adobe FrameMaker
Create online help systems using Adobe RoboHelp
Review and edit proposals, technical documents, marketing materials, reports, etc.
Maintain corporate documentation templates
Other writing and editing duties as assigned


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in English (or relevant field) and 6+ years of technical writing experience in a software development environment
Excellent writing and English grammar skills
Strong aptitude for learning new systems and interpreting system requirements for inclusion in user guides and help files
Ability to work with technical staff to solicit and interpret major ideas and technical results
Expert working knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe RoboHelp (versions 2017+)
Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint
Familiarity with Agile software development lifecycles and their supporting documents
Experience creating graphics and capturing software screenshots


Desired Skills:

Knowledge of Jira, Jama Connect, Microsoft SharePoint, and Snagit
Background in software testing
Familiarity with working within an Agile software development environment
Experience in aviation or air traffic management is a plus
Experience with Microsoft Visio is a plus
